We are members of the Handbells of Great Britain Group (HRGB) and meet other members from around the country at rallies. This gives us a chance to meet other players and play together.
Over the last five years, we have played at various Christmas markets and also for some sheltered housing residents, care homes and community groups. During the sessions, we like to invite the audience to join us and have a go at ringing. This always goes down very well and we are always happy to welcome new ringers of all ages and abilities.
Handbell ringing first began in the 1670s and has developed over the centuries into a fun and sociable activity encompassing a wide variety of music from classics to contemporary pieces. You don’t need to be able to read music, you just need to count to 4!
